Can You Actually Delete a Journal Entry?
According to FTA and IFRS, you can’t just delete a posted transaction like it never happened. There are a few important rules your bookkeeping must follow:
No two documents can have the same reference number.
Invoice numbers must be sequential (e.g., 1, 2, 3…).
There must be no gaps in your numbering.
This is exactly what our “delete” function takes care of for you.
What Happens When You Delete a Journal Entry?
When you delete a journal entry in Naqood, we automatically reverse it.
That means the original entry is still visible in your records, but it’s been offset with a reversing entry, so the overall effect on your books is zero.
In accounting terms, the document number has now been used and cannot be reused. This ensures your books stay clean and compliant without you having to do anything manually.
How to Delete a Journal Entry in Practice
